This week has been hell. And it’s only Tuesday.. what?
Well sorry for being inactive for so long. I didn’t forget my incredibly sweet followers, it’s just that apparently there is no Tumblr in hell… sorry!
Anyways, I guess I never wished all of you a happy new year, so here we go. Happy new year guys! Make it as awesome as you possibly can!
So what is going on ‘nd stuff?  Well…. as some of you might know, I go to 2 schools. Yes, TWO. Once upon a time this seemed like a super awesome idea. And it was. I spent 2 years studying my dreamjob, becoming a photographer. Along the way I studied all sorts of things at other schools, to finally ending up trying to earn a bachelor’s degree in IT. 
Well, I can honestly say this is a huge struggle. Juggling one school around is a lot.  But IT is pretty straightforward.  Photography on the other hand, isn’t.  
It’s been 2 years of insane stress. Especially because my exams AND my photography reviews are always around the same date. 
Because photography is my passion, something I love, I thought I would be able to combine it with my other school. 
But. Time has come to be real. IT takes me about 40 hours a week.  Photography costs me less hours, but more stress. 
It just won’t work.
So yesterday I’ve been talking to my teacher, and he told me I had to make a choice. I don’t think he really likes me, but other than that, he is very professional.  And if he tells me he thinks I need to make a choice. I should. 
as you probably can imagine, non of this makes me any happier. And how much I would like to share with you guys how happy I am, and healthy and how awesome the world is. I cannot say I’m ultra happy right now.. I chose to pursue a career in IT. Get my bachelor’s degree, and then I will continue with photography! I will get what I want.  It’s just going to take me some time longer… It doesn’t feel “right”, but nothing does at the moment .
But.
I’m going to try to stay positive here. So why this picture? Because even if the mountain seems to high, even if your goals seem to farfetched,  even if you feel you are never going to be the person you want be… I will tell you:
No matter how long it takes, no matter how hard you need to push, no matter how often your plans will seem to backfire.
You will get where you want to go.
You will be who you want to be.
You will be able to get stronger every time you fall, you will get up.
So I want to be an awesome fit photographing healthy IT nerd.  AND I WILL. 
My mountain got a bit higher. It’s just going to take a little longer to make it to the top. BUT I WILL GET THERE.

The Sight of yesterday’s run. Tip: you can run anywhere you want to, but if you go for a long run, find a pretty place to do so! I know it motivates me to run harder.
I do advise you take some map or a phone with gps. I was going for a 5k run, it turned into an 8k run because I got lost somewhere, haha. Little sore now… I did improve my time though, yay for New Years resolutions!

Aww, that’s so sweet!

How much it took… Well, I think most of the weightloss has to do with your head, and your customs. The hardest part of it all (for me) wasn’t saying no to certain foods, or working out. The hardest part was changing bad habits, and learning new healthy ones. Some things might seem so innocent, but are actually what made you so big in the first place.

What I also thought was difficult in the beginning, was that I thought I needed something that had already been done before. Like, a diet or something. Here’s the thing. I hate cold food, and I hate salads. Then there is a bunch of other stuff I strongly dislike. Problem was: Going on a diet, made me having to eat that stuff. Yuck. So, looking at it like this. ANY diet wasn’t going to work for me, besides. Have you ever read Bridget Jones diary? There are exceptions, workarounds and variations on everything. If you eat the “variation” 3 times in a row… Well, you might be eating less healthy than you started out with in the first place!

I quickly found a way that worked for me. Foodzy. Foodzy.com is a site where you can track your caloric intake. This worked incredibly well for me. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I was losing weight, and in the beginning of my journey, that was all that mattered. I kept to a maximum amount of 1200 calories a day, I went running 4/5 times a week, and I was cold and tired constantly. The thing that kept me going was my progress!

When I had lost about 14-16 kilo’s (30-35 lbs) my weightloss halted. I hit a plateau, and that was when I realised I was doing something wrong. I decided to read up on food. I quickly figured out I ate way too little calories, and still too much junk. You see, if you only count the calories, you can still eat shit, just not too much of it.

So now I eat a lot more, and healthier food. This has been the hardest part for me, because I can easily devour a cow when I’m hungry, but I don’t get hungry until the end of the day. I can easily eat nothing for hours and hours, and all the sudden feel like I will die without eating everything in sight.

So I guess I am a work in progress. It’s funny how eating only 1200 calories a day seemed like a challenge one year ago, because I thought it was so little. Now I think it’s a challenge to eat healthy, but over 1800 calories a day. Though by healthy eating I lose weight a lot slower, I feel like it stays away more easily. It’s all about the habits I guess! I lost 6 kg through healthy eating so far! Before that, 16 kg. So that brings my total to 22 kg. I think that’s pretty awesome!

I wasn’t very happy at that time, just happy to get my diploma, and get out. Things didn’t go exactly as planned afterwards, but no one can predict life! The second photo is me at my 21st birthday 2 days ago. I actually loved how I look in this dress, and I’m proud for coming this far. At the moment (winter, yuck) I’ve been lacking motivation. So I made this to keep myself going!
Before:Height: 5.8,5 or 1.74Weight: 213 lbs or 96.5 kg
After:Height: 5.8,5 or 1.74Weight: 164 lbs or 74.5 kg
Goal: happy and healthy!
If there is anything I want to say to all of you, is that my weight loss journey didn’t start when I was bullied. It didn’t start when people said I should lose weight. It didn’t start when I couldn’t easily fit into “normal” clothing anymore.
My weight loss journey started when I wanted it to.

Well hey there again! Sorry for being so inactive, it’s just. Well, I can’t really find the time to do pretty much anything, so… I hope you all had some nice holidays!
Anyways, 2 days ago I celebrated my 21st birthday! Yes, 21. Officially an adult now… Yikes. It was so much fun! I had family and friends over the entire day, and we partied until 6 in the morning. (And with partying, I mean singstar and booze)
Earlier, the 8th of december, I’d already celebrated with my 2 best friends. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my 2 very prudish best friends took me to a stripclub to Amsterdam! Though we couldn’t take pictures inside, I made some nice ones in the city of Amsterdam!
As you probably can imagine, I am completely exhausted by now. Celebrating christmas all throughout the country, I had 2 parties besides that just last week. And though I like all the fun, it leaves me with no time to myself. No time to myself means stress, no sleep, and a very messy room. My health is pretty much running away from me screaming right now.
So for now, I’m trying to keep my cool. I need some structure back into my life. So tomorrow morning a fresh start (yes I do realize this is the 31st of december) I think it’s never too late or too soon to start changing for the better, so. I’m going to be original here, and start my new years resolutions right now!

Okay dudes, the newest development in my life: I’ve been living a vegan non-chemical lifestyle 5 days a week, for the last couple of weeks.

Shocking… I know. So why?

Well, the reason for this is because of my health. Obviously. No seriously though. I’ve been standing still in the weightloss department for a while now. And I just need more discipline. This might sound weird. But this way, I “forbid” myself to eat certain foods. It actually makes it easier to say no. And so far it really works. It’s not that I don’t eat meat or dairy at all anymore, just 2 days a week. It makes me feel very much in control.

Anyway, because I don’t really have the time to cook, I make myself quick fixes. I’m still struggling to get the right nutrients in. But, I’m trying. 

For this incredibly quick dinner, you need:

  • 2 potatoes
  • 250 grams of mixed italian vegetables

How to:

  • First you slice the potatoes, make sure the slices aren’t too big, or it will take longer.
  • Heat a pan on high, add some olive oil. 
  • Chuck the potatoeslices in the pan.
  • Keep them on high, this gives them a little “bite”.
  • When the potatoes are nearly done, add the vegetables, and give it a shake.
  • Put the fire on low. Put on the lid of the pan, and wait till it’s done.
  • TADAA! Quick fix. Might take 15 minutes.

Easiest vegan dinner EVER.
